Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy can be especially effective in helping individuals reprocess distressing events and memories that continue to affect their emotional well-being. These unresolved experiences often get "stuck" in the nervous system, influencing how we think, feel, and respond to present-day situations—sometimes without us even realizing it.

EMDR works by using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, to help the brain process traumatic memories in a way that reduces emotional intensity and allows for healing. As the brain integrates these memories, emotional distress decreases, and individuals are often able to view the experience with more clarity and less reactivity.
